Guerrilla Games' Horizon series is one of the most popular PlayStation franchises and at the heart of its story is Aloy. It's fair to say that the Horizon series will never come to Xbox, but green brand gamers will take the most inspiration from Aloy's character with Unknown 9: Awakening.
Announced during the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, developed by Reflector Entertainment and published by Bandai Namco, Unknown 9: Awakening features a main protagonist named Haroona, who looks a bit like Aloy on the basis that she is a strong main character who can kick ass but with a supernatural twist. Additionally, Haroona will be performed by Anya Chalotra which is of course Yennefer of Vengerberg from those of Netflix live action, The Witcher series.

“Unknown 9: Awakening is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game that follows the story of Haroona, a quaestor born with the ability to venture into the Fold; a mysterious dimension that overlaps with our own. In her quest for powerful hidden knowledge, she will learn to master her unique connection with the Fold, which allows her to channel its powers into our world,” reads the press release from Bandai Namco.
“Players will take on the role of Haroona, who embarks on a journey around the world to right the wrongs of her past. As this quest unfolds, players will choose to ambush their opponents from the shadows or fight by entering their enemies to control them, dodging bullets, shield attacks, throwing energy and designing creative battle combinations to customize their playstyle.”
Bandai Namco says that Unknown 9: Awakening will be the entry point for its new intellectual property that will expand into comics, novels, podcasts and more, and has even teased crossover events. Bandai Namco therefore clearly has high hopes for its new franchise.
Unknown 9: Awakening will be released this summer on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
