MoonHood, a studio founded by the developers behind Lost at Random (2021) And Phantom Giant (2019)has finally unveiled its long-teased VR project, The midnight walk.
MoonHood first announced last year that it was collaborate with VR veteran Fast Travel Games as the editor of a mysterious new title, showing a number of dark and twisted clay objects which, through 3D scanning, would serve as the basis for the game's assets.
Coming to PlayStation 5, PSVR 2, Steam and PC VR headsets, MoonHood describes The midnight walk as a “respectful dark fantasy first-person adventure game, built entirely in clay”.
In the game, you play as “The Burnt One”, who ventures into the dark, craft world with a lost lantern creature named Potboy. Use his flame to light your path as you navigate a twisting path and survive by outwitting horrible monsters intent on devouring your little friend's flame.
The midnight walk is supposed to comprise five chapters that feature their own cast of strange characters, all animated in a stop-motion style reminiscent of pulp-based films, like Tim Burton's. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
The game is expected to come to PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets in spring 2025. You can now create a wishlist on the PlayStation Store And Steamwhich also promises flat panel support for PS5 and PC.
