Rail Discoveries tours have been moved to the Great Rail Journeys website and are being rebranded as Discoveries. The operator said there was no impact on employment.
“Bringing Rail Discoveries together under the Great Rail Journeys umbrella as the Discoveries Collection is a natural evolution for our business,” said Dave Riley, Group Managing Director, Great Rail Journeys.
“By combining our strengths, we can offer an even wider range of exceptional rail journeys to meet the needs of our passengers whilst harnessing the power of the Great Rail Journeys brand.”
Great Rail Journeys said the consolidation would mean “no disruption to existing bookings or routes”.
The move is the next step in a process that began in 2022, when the Great Rail Journeys group launched a refresh that included a redesign of brand logos.
“This consolidation marks the next chapter in this exciting evolution,” he said. The year 2024 was “record”, with a 30% increase in turnover. The objective is to achieve a growth of 50% for the coming year.
An expanded range of holidays with more flight options on popular routes, including those to the Italian lakes, has been launched.
Riley added: “We are particularly pleased to announce that we are increasing the number of tours with flight options. This means customers will have more flexibility in choosing how to reach their destination, whether they prefer the classic charm of train travel or the convenience of flying.”
