By metro
THE Shanghai Metro offers a flexible and economical means of transportation. Many metro stations are equipped with vending machines that accept major foreign cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club and JCB. You can choose from a variety of ticket options, such as one-way tickets or 1-day and 3-day passes.
Subway Line 2 connects Shanghai Pudong International Airport to NECC Station, while Line 17 connects Hongqiao Station to the venue. Both lines are accessible via transfers from other metro lines. See the Shanghai rail transport network map below for more details.
The NECC metro station also offers three new self-service lockers totaling 75 lockers. Line 2 lockers are located near exit 3 and line 17 lockers are located near exit 1/2.
By bus line 71
Bus route 71, which will prioritize the use of new energy buses during the CIIE, will be extended to the P5 parking lot near the NECC, providing a fast and environmentally friendly travel option from the city center. Shanghai at the exhibition.
By taxi
Concerned about paying for taxi fares Shanghai? Don't worry: nearly 1,000 of the city's taxis are equipped with ATMs that accept major foreign cards, and that number is expected to reach 2,000 by the start of the expo.
Do you prefer to pay in cash? No problem! Each taxi is ready to accept renminbi payments and give change.
During the exhibition, drop-off points for taxis and other ride-sharing services will be located at parking lots P1, P6 (until noon), P8, P15 and parking lot No. 1535 Huaxiang Road near NECC. Please note that these locations are for drop-offs only, not pick-ups.
From 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the event, taxis will be available to pick you up from P6 on the east side of the venue. You can queue there to take a ride.
By shuttle
Taking a shuttle is another convenient option. Four shuttle routes – Beidi, Zhudi, Jiuting and Xujing – will operate during the CIIE, connecting the expo site with a number of hotels. These hotels include Atour Hotel (North Shenchang Road), Gem Hotel (North Shenchang Road), Vienna International Hotel (West Tianshan Road), Hampton by Hilton (near NECC), Hanting Hotel (Jidi Road), the Ji Hotel (Jiuting) and Yitel Collection (Xujing).
By car: Parking information
Given the crowds expected during the CIIE, it is strongly recommended to take public transport. If driving is necessary, a limited number of temporary parking lots will be available around the NECC, as well as additional spaces in the central area of the Hongqiao business district.
Shuttle buses will transport attendees from the NECC's furthest parking lots to Parking Lot P5, providing quick access to the venue via the second floor walkway on the east side.
For closer parking, choose a car park based on your destination: P15 on the north side is recommended for visitors to halls 2 and 3; P7 east side for halls 1 and 8; P4 south side for halls 6 and 7; P3 and P18 west side for halls 4 and 5.
Space reservations can be made online up to one hour in advance for car parks surrounding the venue, including P1, P2, P3, P7 and P9. However, it is best to book at least a day in advance.
