The ranking was determined based on searches made on HomeToGo.com from January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024, with a check-in date between June 20, 2024 and September 22, 2024. Only destinations with a median nightly price of less than $200 were considered.
Beach retreats are a top priority for the majority of U.S. travelers, with 70% of Americans planning to visit coastal locations this summer, according to the report.

Destin, Florida tops the list of most popular summer destinations.
Searches increased by 29.86% compared to the previous year.
Located on Florida's Emerald Coast, Destin is famous for its emerald green waters and white sand beaches. It is also recognized as the “The luckiest fishing village in the world” due to its wide variety of fish species in the area and its direct access to the Gulf of Mexico.

More than 5 million visitors come to Okaloosa County, Destin’s home county, each year. In 2021, the county reached 7.5 million visitors, increasing tourism spending by 30% over 2020, according to the regional office Tourism Development Council.
