Summer getaways are getting ready. But did you know that you are more likely to get sick while traveling?
Medical experts say traveling can be stressful. There are more people and travelers tend not to eat or sleep too. This can make it harder for your body to fight illness.
The main travel viruses to be aware of include the common cold, viral illnesses, and norovirus.
“People think of them as fall-winter type illnesses, but that's actually inaccurate,” said medical expert Dr. Barbara Bawer.
Tips for staying healthy this summer:
- Keep hands clean.
- Try to stay away from people who are coughing and sneezing.
- Consider wearing a mask when you are in enclosed spaces.
