Tips for booking hotels at the best rates

Search for deals using several different OTAs (online travel agencies); this ensures that you can make a proper price comparison for the cheap hotels available at your destination. You will often see us using the Trivago OTA. We like Trivago because they show the lowest rates on third-party websites as well as the hotel website.
Sign up for hotel loyalty programs:
Many hotel groups have their own loyalty programs. Most are free and give you access to perks like discounts and member-only rates.
Search for promo codes:
Google is your friend. Enter the name of the OTA you want to book with, followed by “discount code”, “promo code” or “promo code”.
Be the first to know about hotel sales:
If you have a favorite hotel group or establishment, sign up for their newsletter and follow their social media accounts to ensure you're notified of new sales.
Book out of season:
It may be tempting to only consider a summer vacation, but traveling out of season ensures that your hotel price will be much, much cheaper.
Use Air Miles:
You may not know it yet, but you can also choose to use your airline miles to book hotels.
