UPDATE May 7 – We've heard rumors that Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom may have a soft opening very soon after extensive testing continues.
In a new update of Landscape of cries, it looks like Disney is trying to get everything in order for a soft opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom sometime in mid to late June. This would directly coincide with the opening of Dreamworks Land as well as their new nighttime spectacular CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular on June 14 at Universal Studios Florida.
For now, Disney has neither confirmed nor denied this rumor.
May 5 – According to Screamscape, there are rumors that Disney may try to rush the soft opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom after Universal's recent announcement that Dreamworks Land is set to open on June 14 along with their new spectacular show nighttime CineSational: A symphonic show.
In a new video posted to YouTube by Orlando Experience, we see more testing underway at Tiana's Bayou Adventure, including night testing at 1:00 p.m. with Imagineers.
We don't yet have confirmation on the exact opening date for Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom, but with testing continuing daily, we expect to hear news of a soft opening coming soon announced.
April 17 – Progress continues on the new Tiana's Bayou adventure at Magic Kingdom. In a recent build update posted to YouTube by 4K WDW, we can see the latest developments.
Recent developments include new landscaping around the station and new signs and themes have been added to the barn. We can also see a whole host of new accessories appearing, including boxes containing lanterns, whiskey, woodworking tools and hacksaws.
Test drives continue and the only visible remnants of Splash Mountain are a few nest boxes and a toilet sign. Work is certainly progressing well and we look forward to confirmation of its official opening date at the Magic Kingdom this summer.
April 8 – As work continues on Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney Imagineering has given us a first look at the range of audio-animatronics that will be used in this new attraction.
A new video series released on YouTube by Walt Disney Imagineering, called We Call It Imagineering, aims to showcase the behind-the-scenes work that goes into bringing Disney attractions to life. In the first video embedded below at the 3:48 mark, we see the first look at the animatronics that will be used in Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
It's certainly interesting to see the time and work that went into creating the complex audio-animatronics that will be used in Tiana's Bayou Adventure when it opens at the Magic Kingdom this summer.
March 26 – Guests heading to the Magic Kingdom to follow the progress of Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be in for a surprise as music has now been turned on in the area.
Initial reactions seem generally positive to the addition of the song “Down In New Orleans” from The Princess and the Frog, although it is expected that this soundtrack will be transformed into an instrumental version during the official opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure this summer.

March 25 – Progress continues to be made on Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom, where we can see more themes being completed as well as more log tests.
In the new construction update posted to YouTube by Park Update, we can see that additional work has been done on the queue and the mountain appears to be filling with flowers and greenery.
In another recent video posted to YouTube by Blog Mickey and embedded below, we can see that more day log testing is underway on Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom.
Extensive work continues inside this attraction and we're very excited to get a sneak peek in the coming weeks as we head towards its summer opening.
March 4 – With Disney's confirmation in late February that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is now set to open this summer at the Magic Kingdom, it's no surprise that we're seeing further progress in this controversial reimagining.
In a recent video posted to YouTube by BigFatPanda, we see water flowing and logs continue to be tested for Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
the 21st of February – There were some exciting times at the Magic Kingdom this week as testing began on Tiana'a Bayou Adventure. In the video posted to YouTube on February 14 and embedded below by Drew In The Moment, we see water running again at 9:25 a.m., then at 9:50 a.m. we see a log being tested.
With the recent confirmation that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will now open at the Magic Kingdom this summer rather than the originally planned “late 2024”, we expect to see work continue to ramp up over the coming weeks alongside extensive testing.
February 14 – Disney has confirmed the schedule for the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom. Originally scheduled to open “late 2024”, we now know that Disney is surprisingly ahead of schedule and Tiana's Bayou Adventure is now set to open this summer!
In a recent video posted by Disney on TikTok and embedded below, we get a glimpse of the new Tiana animatronic which certainly looks very impressive.

For some Disney fans still mourning the loss of the original Splash Mountain attraction, this news may not have the same excitement factor as it does for those eagerly awaiting the new reimagining.
Although at the Magic Kingdom we will see the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure this summer, the current timeline for opening Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland park is still set for “late 2024.”

February 4 – Work on the next Tiana's Bayou adventure is progressing well at Magic Kingdom. Disney fans currently visiting the park will be sure to see that the iconic Splash Mountain is certainly being transformed and takes on a completely different look when it transforms into Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
In a new construction video update posted to YouTube by 4K WDW on January 31, we get a detailed look at all the latest progress on Tiana's Bayou adventure at the Magic Kingdom, including:
- Further scaffolding was removed throughout January, including those at the bottom of the falls.
- Mama Odie's lanterns were added before the big drop
- You can still see the Splash Mountain theme on the exterior which we believe will be removed very soon.
- The playground is still closed
We will continue to update you on the progress of the Tiana's Bayou adventure at Magic Kingdom in the weeks and months to come.
January 26 – In a construction video posted to YouTube by The DIS, we can see the dense foliage and flowers that were added to the exterior as well as views of the vibrant murals. The stone work is also updated. Tiana's Bayou adventure is certainly coming to life and we can't wait to see what happens inside in the months to come.
We will continue to monitor the progress of the expansive reimagining of Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure as we move closer to the official opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure which is expected in the fall of this year at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park.
January 6, 2024 has just begun and that means the controversial Tiana's Bayou Adventure is set to open at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland park later this year.
In a new construction video update posted to YouTube by 4K WDW, we see how Tiana's Bayou Adventure currently looks at the Magic Kingdom.
Key developments include:
- A new section of the queue appears to have opened temporarily to reach the toilets
- The playground is reinvented
- Other themed elements have been added to the exterior
- Part of the scaffolding at the top of the mountain has been removed
October 19, 2023 – This week, Disney revealed the colorful and vibrant new mural that will be featured at Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park in 2024. The mural can be seen below in the Instagram post will be added to the main queue entrance building of the old Splash Mountain.
The mural was created by visual artist Malaika Favorite who created the design on canvas and then it was shipped to Florida for the team to use to complete this artwork. It's inspired by Tiana's story and where her food comes from as well as the people who worked with her and her fans.
Today, for many Disney fans still mourning the loss of the iconic Splash Mountain, seeing this bright and colorful mural celebrating Tiana may not be the best sight, but in the video embedded above, Malaika Favorite said the purpose of painting is to make you feel good.
