Want to hit the road with your family for Thanksgiving? Gunther Motor Company has just released its Best Destinations for a Family Thanksgiving Road Tripand a Massachusetts destination made the top 10.
A Florida-based auto dealership group, Gunther Motor Company, based its rankings on the results of an online survey of 3,000 respondents. In general, the survey found that families are looking for memorable road trip destinations that will allow them to both relax and get into the festive spirit.
Of the 125 destinations ranked, Stockbridge, a small town in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, comes in eighth place – the only New England destination to make the top 10.
Things to see and do in Stockbridge
Stockbridge is home to many attractions perfect for tourists, from historic sites like the Red Lion Inn At Norman Rockwell Museum to the main shopping street that featured in one of Rockwell's paintings.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the beautiful landscapes of the Stockbridge Berkshires can be explored through various hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, as well as through a walk at Berkshire Botanic Garden or a visualization of Christmas Lights at Naumkeag House and Gardens.
