Travelers to the UK just got a glimpse of the best value destinations to explore in 2025. According to Skyscanner, the cheapest place British jet-setters should visit is Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The travel research and comparison site complaints it recorded the city as having seen the biggest drop in airline ticket prices, falling 45%. Due to the substantial drop in prices, Skyscanner estimates that Sarajevo's “Ottoman-era Old Town, incredible cafe culture and labyrinthine old bazaar” will be more accessible, especially in 2025.
Okinawa, Japan comes second on the list of best value destinations. The ranking of the cheapest places to fly planned for 2025 consecutively included Tirana, Albania; Sapporo, Japan; And Marrakech, Morocco. The top 10 is completed by Belgrade, Serbia; Gothenburg, Sweden; Prague, Czech Republic; Halifax, Canada; and Jakarta, Indonesia.
Skyscanner believes that best value destinations are worth considering if UK travelers want to 'get more for their money'. The destinations chosen were based on “the biggest fall in UK airfare prices over the past year”.
What else should you know about the Skyscanner 2025 Best Value Destinations Report?
The percentage price reduction was removed from economy class airfares between January 1 and June 30, 2024, compared to the same period last year.
“It is likely that we will see cheaper fares to these destinations due to a combination of several factors: the launch of new routes that open these destinations for the first time and/or a higher frequency of low-cost airline flights. cost,” specifies Skyscanner.
The source notes that 25% of UK travelers plan to spend more on flights in 2025. Similarly, 22% plan to spend more on accommodation. Nearly half (47%) of those surveyed said airfare was the main factor determining their vacation destinations. An equal number (47%) said their biggest deciding factor was the price of their home.
