The Raceway Bar and Grill is serving what might rival Taco Bell's Mexican pizza, and this weekend only.
One of its creators calls it “something ridiculous.”
The “Natcho Average Pizza” is a cheese pizza, in which the pizza sauce is replaced with nacho sauce. It is topped with tortilla chips, ground beef, lettuce, pickled jalapenos, black olives, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, and more nacho cheese.
It looks like a mountain of nachos with melted cheese and a crispy base.
The only way owner Rand Del Cotto could describe the spicy, experimental cuisine: “It tastes like the Spanish language.”
The meal was the result of a little play in the kitchen, said the store's marketing manager, Kaylee Del Cotto. She is Rand's daughter-in-law.
“I don’t know how we did it,” Kaylee said. “We just put our heads together and wanted to come up with something ridiculous.”
The nacho platter on pizza crust can feed three or four people and is available for $24.99 this weekend only. That won't be the only wacky thing Raceway Bar and Grill has to offer.
“We’re going to do a series over the next few months,” Kaylee said, which has been dubbed “Wild Weekends.”
“We're going to be offering high-quality, extravagant items that people have never seen before.”
Raceway will announce each special weekend on its Facebook Pagewhich will not only include starters or appetizers. There could also be drinks and desserts.
“We want to try to include some items on the menu and try some fun things,” Kaylee said.
