Russell Cave National Monument, Jackson County
This archaeological site Thousands of years ago, prehistoric humans sheltered here. The ballroom-sized cavern is also one of the oldest human habitation sites in North America, according to the National Park Service. Visitors can explore this hidden gem via a boardwalk and can see a display of weapons and other tools found at the site in a small museum. It is open daily, except winter holidays. Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, Haines
Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Wildlife Refuge is a state park and wildlife refuge in Haines, and the Chilkat Valley in particular is home to 200 to 400 eagles.
