KTM's presence at EICMA was a bit strange this year. Although there are some updated and new KTM 390 models on display, we haven't received the usual press release emails with information about them like we have with many other bikes. At first we thought it was just us, but other media outlets are reporting the same thing. All we have are a few photos from their EICMA display on the KTM press site. All file names start with “MY25”, which indicates that they are 2025 models.
KTM 390 Adventure R
Let's start with the literal writing on the wall behind the updated KTM 390 Adventure R, which claims it is “the next era of hardcore adventure travel.” It has a new frame and subframe, which are clearly visible if you compare this photo to the 2024 model. In fact, it looks more like 390 Duke. It features larger wheels, a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear. You can barely see the new off-road swingarm. Although the announced WP Apex adjustable suspension is visible, we don't know if it differs from last year's model. We can see a new rally tower, windshield, headlight and a different five-inch TFT screen than before. The high front fender is more suitable for off-road driving, but the lower exhaust is not.
KTM 390 Enduro R
An Enduro R joins the 390 range, completing its largest 690 brother or sister. It appears to have a similar 21/18 wheel setup as the Adventure R, as well as a new frame and swingarm design. Stickers for a WP suspension are visible on the forks, perhaps similar to those on the Adventure R or possibly with different settings for more serious dirt use.
KTM 390 SMC R
Like the 690, a supermoto joins the 390 range. The frame and swingarm resemble those of the other models, but the exhaust, which resembles that of the 390 Duke, and the 17-inch wheels are more appropriate for road use.
We're only speculating at this point, but it would make sense that the updated LC4c engine introduced on last year's 390 Duke would make it to all three of these models, along with its slipper clutch, electronic throttle, and more. numerous electronic driving aids, including cruise control which some detainees confirmed. We wish we could tell you more, but that's all we know until KTM gives us some information beyond these photos taken at EICMA. Do you see a detail I missed? Let us know in the comments.
