Sirius Jet unveils two hydrogen-powered VTOL aircraft
Sirius Aviation has unveiled its two Sirius Jet hydrogen VTOL aircraft: A CEO model and an Adventure version, which could be capable of traveling through jungles and over mountains. Dubbed the world's first hydrogen-powered VTOL aircraft, co-designed by BMW's Designworks and Sauber Group, these jets were presented at the MOVE Expo in London on June 20, 2024.
The 28 ducted fans on both models immediately catch the eye as one of their most striking features. Observers can see 20 fans located along the wings and eight more mounted in the canard, or a small airfoil in front of an airplane's wing. Each of these ducted fans is driven by a separate electric motor, and the Swiss aviation startup says this type of propulsion system helps reduce noise emissions.

Sirius CEO and Adventure Jet Features
The two recent hydrogen Sirius Jets VTOL aircraft have distinctive features. The CEO Jet can accommodate three people and is primarily used for point-to-point landings. This means travelers can choose their exact landing location, “literally,” says Sirius AviationIts flight range can reach 1,850 kilometers (1,150 miles) with a speed of 520 km/h (323 mph), and it seems that the CEO Sirius Jet is more suited to leisure and business flights at the moment.
For those seeking adrenaline and wanting to explore uncharted terrain, the Adventure aircraft may be just the ticket. The second model of the Sirius Jet hydrogen-powered VTOL can fly through jungles, over mountains, and potentially into territories that a typical airplane or Boeing cannot reach. This model seats five passengers and a pilot and has a flight range of 650 miles (1,050 kilometers) at a speed of 323 mph (520 km/h). Unlike its sibling, the CEO Jet, the Adventure aircraft has a maximum cargo capacity of 1,100 liters.

Sirius Jet's hydrogen-powered VTOL plane could fly in 2025
The final design and technological features of the upcoming Sirius Jet hydrogen-powered VTOL aircraft models may not yet be known, but the images could reveal enough about what could happen. Inside the Sirius CEO Jet, plush-looking, leather-like materials cover the cabin, paired with tan brown color schemes. The lighting design appears in the form of strips, both on the ceiling and on the floor. A large frameless control screen is placed in front of the pilot and panoramic windows provide a clear view of his flight navigation.
For the Sirius Adventure Jet, the hydrogen VTOL model can be equipped with emergency and safe landing equipment, given that it is designed for off-grid excursions. In one of the images released, a float appears to be attached to the underside of the plane when it lands on water, in an attempt to prevent it from sinking while help is on the way. At the time of publishing the article, Sirius Aviation AG plans to make the first flights of its aircraft model in 2025. The design team has already revealed two other models: the Sirius Business Jet for the needs of private aircraft and the Sirius Millennium Jet for commercial aviation.
