Ideal for activities
Istanbul, Türkiye
Istanbul tops InsureMyTrip’s list of top travel destinations for seniors. “Istanbul’s recognition as the top destination for seniors highlights its rich culture with popular activities and high-quality healthcare services,” says Sarah Webber of InsureMyTrip. The cosmopolitan city of Istanbul is a cultural and ethnic melting pot, a city unlike any other city straddling two continents (Europe and Asia), with modern Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Turkish structures – it is a skyline of domes and minarets made up of mosques, churches and synagogues, palaces, castles and towers – and of course, incredible cultural monuments, including Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
The Turkish city scored well in many areas, including the quality of its activities (scoring 4.63 out of 5), its healthcare and ease of getting around on foot.
