(Pet of the Week is a regular column finding homes for dogs and cats at the Beaver County Humane Society.)
Good morning! I am a sailor. I am a 2 year old Pit Bull Terrier looking for a forever home.
I have been at the shelter since July 16. It's been over 100 days of waiting to meet my forever family. It's been a very, very long time.
If I were a sailor, I would sail to the seven seas in search of adventure and treasure. But I wouldn't look for jewelry. I don't care about diamonds, rubies or pearls. I wouldn't look for gold either.
My treasure is a family that belongs to me. I spent 100 days scanning the horizon, dreaming of a family to snuggle and cuddle and kiss with all day long. I hope that my long journey will soon be over and that I can finally find a safe harbor and a happy home.
I am a very nice dog. I love cuddles and sitting on your lap. I like to watch TV (Bluey is my favorite!) and eat doggy ice cream.
I would prefer to be the only pet in my future family. No other pets or small children, please.
My only demand is that you allow me the luxury of sleeping on your couch. My bones are tired from searching for so long for a family, so a nap on the couch, snuggled up against you, is what I need to soothe my soul.
I am full of love and dream of spending all my future adventures with you. Come meet me today!
Here's what one staffer had to say about Sailor:
“Sailor loves car rides and cuddles, but he doesn't really know what he prefers. He loves getting all the attention; he will give you sad eyes when you stop petting him. He knows a few tricks like sitting and paws. He's very good at walking, unless he sees someone getting out of a car, then all he wants to do is jump in!
