Sai De Silva's family loves a good vacation, and the mother of two knows exactly how to prepare to make her family trips a success.
By chatting with PEOPLE about your appearance in Old Navyspring campaign alongside her two children, her daughter London, 12, and her son Rio, 6, the The Real Housewives of New York The star, 43, shared some of her favorite tips for traveling with family.
When it comes to packing, De Silva suggests “mixing and matching” as well as using the “tuck and roll method” of packing clothes into a bag or suitcase.
“I’m a mixer when I’m on vacation,” she says. “I just think we only have one suitcase, so you definitely need to bring pieces that coordinate with each other, or that can be mixed and matched.”
Another must-have for everyone in the family is a button-down shirt, says the social media influencer and blogger.

“Everyone needs a button. My daughter needs a button, I need a button and my son needs a button. I think they are very versatile. They go with everything,” she explains. “You can put on your swimsuit and just button the top. And then in the evening you can tie it up, button it up and add skirts.”
“Sunglasses are very essential. Versatile protective clothing that can be worn at any time of the day with outfits. Statement items that really make your outfit pop, things like jewelry,” she adds about other essential items to bring.
De Silva, who shares her two children with husband David Craig, tells PEOPLE that she and her kids made “great memories” filming Old Navy's spring break campaign in Miami, where they each got the chance to show off their favorite looks.
“This isn’t our first trip to the rodeo,” De Silva says of creating content with his kids. “We’ve done it before, so they’re pretty used to it.”
“I think they're very competitive with each other. They're trying to see who can do the best, so they can come home and tell their dad who did the best at work. So it's cute . It's a family affair here. And you know what? They love seeing the final product.”
“My daughter loved the white button-up. My son loved his striped shorts, which were so fun, bright orange, and brightened up the mood of the gloomy winter we're experiencing here in New York,” she continues. “I felt like it almost boosted his confidence. He was super stylish, with his sunglasses and everything.”
“He thought he was the coolest guy,” she adds. “The highlight, of course, was my son jumping into the pool over and over again. I mean, cannonballing him and everyone looking at him, that was the applause he got need.”
De Silva says her family loves beach trips, so shooting the campaign in Miami was a lot of fun for her and her kids. “Anytime my son and daughter can get out and go to the beach, they are very busy, so they had a great time too.”
She also celebrates that her kids are “the easiest” on vacation.
“Sometimes they are so quiet that I forget they are in our hotel room. Like, “Hello, is anyone there?” » ” she laughs. “My children are very, very relaxed, very relaxed. They love to have a good vacation.”
“They love to sit by the pool. It's almost like having little mini-adults hanging out with me,” she continues. “Sometimes I think, ‘Is it normal that they are so relaxed and relaxed?’ I have very good children.”
