“Japan is probably one of the most popular vacation destinations for Americans and it is now much more affordable to travel there. Over the past year, the dollar has strengthened 11.65% against the Japanese yen, making the country, often considered expensive to visit, now accessible to many Americans. With its unique culture, world-famous cuisine and countless activities, Japan will now be more popular than ever,” according to NetVoucherCodes.
U.S. airlines are also increasing their services to Japan, and competition among carriers can often translate into better airfares as well.
4. Türkiye
At the time of publication, $1 is equivalent to 33.06 Turkish liras.
“This is the perfect time for Americans to visit the vibrant city of Istanbul, with its mix of cultures and mouthwatering cuisine. Take a romantic weekend in Cappadocia to experience a hot air balloon ride over the rolling desert or head to the coast, just minutes from the Greek islands,” NetVoucherCodes said in its statement.
Travelers can also enjoy the benefits of Turkish Airlines stopover program visiting Turkey en route to another destination.
3. Egypt
At the time of publication, $1 is equivalent to 48.25 Egyptian pounds.
“Egypt is one of the most popular holiday destinations for travellers looking to soak up the winter sun and is home to some of the world’s most beautiful historical monuments. Data shows that now could be the time to go,” NetVoucherCodes said.
It's certainly a place on many Americans' travel bucket lists, and a favorable exchange rate could help make those dreams a reality.
2. Malawi
At the time of publication, $1 is equivalent to 1,734.33 Malawian kwacha.
“Malawi, one of Africa’s premier safari destinations, benefits from a strong dollar against the Malawian kwacha, making it a better value for money vacation for Americans. The country is home to 11 national parks and game reserves, making it one of the best places on the planet to view African animals. However, travelers are unlikely to see the benefit of a strong dollar when booking a safari with a U.S. provider, and may be better off booking their own itinerary to save money,” NetVoucherCodes said.
Malawi is not often a top destination for American travelers—it's one of the poorest countries in the world—but its natural beauty is unmatched and underrated.
1. Argentina
At the time of publication, $1 is equivalent to 923.50 Argentine pesos.
“The country has seen multiple instances of currency devaluation due to economic problems, so Americans looking for cheap vacations where they can sample some of the world's best wines and go on breathtaking hikes need look no further,” NetVoucherCodes' analysis said.
Keep in mind that Argentina's economy has a reputation for being unstable. Many merchants also accept U.S. dollars, but exchange rates and bartering can be confusing.
