Publisher and developer Mad Mimic has revealed that its upcoming pirate-themed action-adventure game Mark of the Depths will make its way to Switch on October 8.
After his ship mysteriously crashes off the coast of a cursed and creepy island, Marcus “Rookie” Ramsey sets out to gather his crew and eliminate any nefarious monsters, gangs, or cult leaders that stand in his way.
The developer quotes Hollow Knight And Death's door among the game's inspirations, taking the sense of exploration from the metroidvania genre and mixing it with complex Souls-like combat. We're particularly fans of the animation style found in the opening of the trailer above, and there's a touch of generality. Hades-ness in the visuals that look nice in motion (assuming they work well on Switch).
