Norwegian Jewel is preparing to embark on an exciting new voyage, with Miami as her homeport for the 2025-2026 cruise season. The updated itineraries, running from November 23, 2025 to April 16, 2026, provide new travel opportunities for cruise enthusiasts. Reservations for these highly anticipated trips will open on November 29, 2024.
Norwegian Jewel was originally planned to depart from Tampa and offer a range of cruises from five to 14 nights in the Caribbean. These included stops at the ABC Islands, Central America and the Bahamas. However, the redeployment to Miami introduces a new perspective, with new routes tailored to meet changing traveler preferences.
Support for affected passengers
Passengers affected by the cancellation of Tampa routes are being offered a full refund. Additionally, Norwegian Cruise Line provides a ten percent discount for future cruises, in the form of Future Cruise Credit (FCC). This credit can be applied to any published sailing until December 31, 2026, ensuring flexibility for travelers.
Fleet-wide changes reflecting new opportunities
Norwegian Jewel isn't the only ship undergoing changes for the upcoming season. Norwegian Cruise Line announced the redeployment of three more ships:
- Norwegian Dawn: Previously scheduled for voyages to Africa and the Indian Ocean, the ship will now explore the Western Caribbean.
- Norwegian Star: Initially planned for South American and Antarctic itineraries, it will now offer cruises to the Bahamas and the southern Caribbean.
- Norwegian Jade: Planned for cruises on the Panama Canal, it is now repositioned to offer cruises on the Mexican Riviera from San Diego.
Additionally, Norwegian Dawn and Norwegian Star will offer transatlantic sailings between Europe and North America, expanding travel options for passengers.
Miami: a dynamic new base for Norwegian Jewel
The decision to reposition Norwegian Jewel in Miami underscores Norwegian Cruise Line's commitment to providing unique and convenient travel experiences. Miami, with its world-class cruise infrastructure and vibrant cultural scene, is a natural gateway to the Caribbean. Passengers can expect seamless connections, dynamic pre-cruise activities and access to some of the region's most scenic destinations.
This strategic move highlights Norwegian Cruise Line's adaptability and focus on improving guest satisfaction. With new itineraries designed to deliver unforgettable adventures, Norwegian Jewel's Miami season promises to be an exceptional experience for travelers seeking both relaxation and exploration.
