Just two days later Forbes published its own Columbus travel guide, national travel publication Far away operated The Arch City as one of the best travel places for families this year.
THE Far away The story, titled “Our Favorite Family Destinations Across the United States for 2024,” included Columbus in a list of eight different locations across the country.
“As our plane landed in Columbus from Tampa in the fall of 2023, my six-year-old told his sister that they would be greeted on the ground with flower leis called “ leis. He had confused Ohio with O'ahu when I told him we were going on a trip in the fall. But Columbus contributed so much to the family's enjoyment that there was never any regret,” the story reads.

Far away lists local hotspots like the Franklinton Arts District, COSI, Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and more to potential travelers. He also named The North Market and Budd Dairy Food Hall as restaurants to try and recommended staying at Junto in Franklinton.
Other destinations mentioned in the story include Buffalo, Washington's Olympic Peninsula, Santa Fe, Denver, Jackson, Wyoming, Kaua'i, Hawaii, and Lake County in Northern California.
