We might actually start to feel like summer is coming for us here in Montana. I'm not promising anything, because we all know the weather in Montana has a will of its own.
Temperatures will approach 80 next week, school is about to end, and families will start planning their annual summer getaways. For some of us, this trip might be the annual camping trip you've been taking for years. For others, they may be planning an international getaway.
What are the top two travel destinations Montanans are looking for?
According to Towards the clouds, Montanan searched for this city in Mexico the most. Often filled with tourists, Cancun is apparently the most popular at Montanan.
When it comes to domestic travel, Towards the clouds discovered that, like the rest of the United States, Las Vegas is the first choice for domestic vacations.
I've been to both places, and while I love the white sand beaches of Cancun, I actually prefer a destination that's a little less crowded when traveling abroad.
Las Vegas is always fun, even if it's just for a weekend. Direct flights from Bozeman make the trip even easier, and it doesn't hurt that they're reasonably priced. We just took a road trip to Las Vegas last month and the drive is also very easy.
Are you planning a summer getaway this year? If you want to avoid the crazy, busy crowds, you may want to avoid choosing Las Vegas or Cancun. Both are also great off-season vacation spots.
