The adventure camp at Lake McMurtry is designed to promote environmental management among our young people. At camp, we engage kids by using outdoor fun to create pathways to lessons in environmental education, ecology, team building and more! All camp sessions are designed by professional educators and are perfect for young and curious people. The camp is entirely outdoors and creates the perfect environment for young explorers to engage in hands-on learning. From June 3 to June 28, Monday to Friday.
Monday's activities will teach campers the importance of caring for our environment and how to properly and safely interact with wildlife and nature. On Tuesdays, campers will have the opportunity to explore the benefits of lakeside camp and learn skills such as fishing, kayaking and water-related STEM activities. Can your campervan survive in the wild? On Wednesday, campers will practice survival skills such as purifying water, starting a fire, preparing their own meal, mapping and building a shelter. Interested in science and nature? Campers who do will love Thursdays where we learn about our environment and the role that science, technology, engineering, and math play through a variety of educational activities/resources. Is your camper van artistic and a lover of the great outdoors? On Friday, campers will be able to explore their artistic abilities while completing outdoor projects related to McMurtry Lake and our local environment.
