Often overlooked and rarely mentioned when talking about the beautiful towns of the Monterey Peninsula, the town of Marina gets some love from Cosmopolitan magazine. Cosmopolitan listed 15 “underrated summer travel destinations in the United States” and placed a road trip through Marina as the second must-see underrated destination. They said the Sanctuary Beach Resort in Marina is a place to “live out your California coast dreams every night with a sunset fire on the beach.” They were listed just below chasing the midnight sun in Alaska.
