The adventure company in particular allows its clients to explore the most exciting parts of the region. Adventurers will also discover landmarks and pockets of hidden beauty on and off the water.

“We love showcasing the natural beauty of Lake Hopatcong and seeing the memories guests create with us,” says Patty Chinelli. She is the general manager of Lake Hopatcong Adventure Company. “The smiles are so rewarding,” she adds.
The Lake Hopatcong Adventure Company believes that nature is best enjoyed with friends and family. That's why they offer personalized group adventures based on each group's goals and definition of “fun.” Each experience is designed to help adventurers create lasting memories. Private tours are available for large groups.
All experiences are offered as guided tours. “Everything is better with a guide,” says Patty. “Safety in numbers is important. We offer the opportunity to explore while keeping guest safety in mind.
Popular adventures
Water tours are the most popular service offered by Lake Hopatcong Adventure Company. In fact, 30- or 60-minute hydrobike rides are so popular that they've gone viral in 2022 and 2023. “All of our water rides are an adventure,” says Patty. “Each offers a different experience on the beautiful lake.”
Patty's favorite ride is the Hobe Mirage Pedalboard. During the 30-minute hydrobike or pedal tour, groups travel to Halsey Island, Great Cove, or Main Lake Market. (Keep an eye out for bald eagles). For the 60-minute version of the tour, they depart from Nolan's Point to Raccoon Island or Halsey Island.
Lake Hopatcong Adventure Company offers daily hiking and biking tours at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. They also run day camps with water tours and mini golf for local camps, schools and businesses.

Future plans include growing the business by adding more equipment and more non-motorized vehicles on the lake. “This allows all skill levels to participate,” says Patty.
Lake Hopatcong Adventure Company is a family-owned business that has been open since spring 2018. Patty actually grew up in the area and attended the local high school. She often visits The Windlass, a lakeside restaurant and one of New Jersey's Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants. “I grew up by the lake. It is a beautiful lake to live on and explore. It’s the largest lake in New Jersey, hidden in the New Jersey highlands,” she says. “There is a great atmosphere: restaurants, watering holes, hikes.”
