The Television Academy has announced winners in a handful of categories, including animation, for the 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and a trio of family-friendly projects will be eligible to take home their golden statues.
What if…? – An immersive story (in the photo) won the Outstanding Innovation in Emerging Media Programming award. The virtual reality game for Apple Vision Pro from Marvel Studios, ILM Immersive and Disney+ lets players explore different environments from the Marvel Universe and meet different characters along the way.
The award for best motion design went to Jim Henson, the man of ideas from Image Documentaries, Disney Branded Television and Disney+. Ron Howard directed this documentary about Henson and his career, including the creation and building of the iconic properties The Muppets and Sesame Street.
Meanwhile, the series focused on older people Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake (HBO/Max and Cartoon Network Studios) won a character animation award in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category for its episode “The Winter King.”
Entries from the juried categories are reviewed by a panel of professionals including animators, costume designers, and movement and title designers.
