(ST. JOSEPH, Missouri) Christmas Eve is one of the most important travel days of the holiday season and year.
Those traveling to Kansas City International Airport should plan ahead before leaving.
“We’re looking at a pretty busy holiday season,” Deputy Director of Aviation Justin Meyer said.
“This will likely be the busiest year in our history as Kansas City International Airport is on track to have its busiest year in history, but nothing too out of control. Wait times at security checkpoint continues to be minimal.”
Meyer also shared some tips for those picking up and dropping off air travelers.
“If you're picking someone up, definitely use the cell phone parking near the Airport Marriott Hotel, so you're not just spinning around in traffic and slowing things down for everyone,” said Meyer.
“Or park in the parking lot if you want to meet your guests inside the terminal, in addition to those departing from KCI.”
Additionally, Meyer says her biggest tips are to download the app for the airline you're flying on and make sure you start packing with an empty bag.
