Safety Harbor Public Library's summer reading programs for all ages begin Monday, June 3 and continue through Saturday, August 3. This year's theme, The adventure begins in your library, highlights the role of the library as a springboard for exploration and discovery. Whether you're looking to develop a new skill, embark on a virtual journey through a captivating novel, or chart a course for your next real-world adventure, the library provides the resources and inspiration needed to fuel your imagination.
SHPL encourages children, tweens, and teens to maintain their reading habits throughout the summer by participating in the library's reading programs. Participants can log their reading hours to win exciting prizes if they reach designated milestones. All young participants will be entered into a grand draw at the end of the program.
Adults are invited to take part in a community reading challenge, aiming to collectively read 600 books throughout the summer. This collaborative effort fosters a sense of connection and shared accomplishment. Readers who participate will be eligible for bi-weekly drawings, with a chance to win a grand prize in August.
