THE Adventure time The series has no shortage of terrifying creations created exclusively to give fans nightmares. However, one of the most disturbing images of Adventure time the story actually comes from the comics.
In Adventure time #33 by Ryan North, Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb, Finn, Jake, Marceline, Bubblegum and others are being held by the Mnemenoid, a being who has taken Finn's memories. However, when Jake tries to escape, Marceline surprises the villain, causing him to lose concentration and freeing everyone. In an effort to fight back, Jake and Marceline team up to show off a new move as the two officially combine, with Jake acting as armor for Marceline's ultimate vampire form.
This gruesome image is pure nightmare fuel because it splits Jake's head in half, revealing Marceline's gaping mouth with sharp teeth and a lolling tendril-like tongue. Plus, with bat claws and ears to round it all out, it's something only body horror enthusiasts like David Cronenberg could imagine.

Jake and Marceline's merger is the end of their friendship
Adventure time #33 by Ryan North, Shelli Paroline, Braden Lamb and Steve Wands
Oddly enough, the team-up of Jake and Marceline occurs after years of disagreement between the two. When Marceline debuted on the show, Jake was absolutely terrified of her because she was a vampire. He wanted nothing to do with her and sometimes even tried to stop Finn from connecting with her. However, as Adventure time evolved, Jake's opinions of Marceline became friendlier as the two became friends, which makes him one of the most likeable characters in the series.
After years of development, however, the two became friends, with Jake even describing their official merger as ”
FRIENDSHIP!!
'
This final form in the comics is the perfect way to show how far the two have come. Jake would never have thought of teaming up with Marceline if he had been the same as in the first season of the series. After years of development, however, the two grew closer as friends, with Jake even describing their official merger as “FRIENDSHIP!!“It's a satisfying payoff for Jake and Marceline's journey as characters, as Jake learns to overcome his fear of vampires to develop a strong friendship with a pretty cool person.
Jake's Nightmare Shapeshifting Opens Up Potential for Other Terrifying Team-Ups
The sky's the limit for Jake's expandable powers
Of course, with Jake officially merging with Marceline in this comic, that begs the question of what. other absolutely horrifying forms Jake could take when teaming up with other beings in Ooo. It has already merged with his best friend Finn becoming his armor, but that was basically Finn entering Jake's mouth, not a true fusion. A potential team-up would be Jake merging with one of Adventure timethe best villains, the Lich, in what would be an undeniably terrifying look. Others could include characters such as Ice King, Lemongrab, the Tandem Psychic War Elephant, and more.
Jake's elasticity is incredibly malleable, so it gives him tons of incredible possibilities for bending his body to create something absolutely horrible. However, none would make as much sense as his team-up with Marceline. Their final form carries a lot of weight after years of character development, making their fusion not only one of Adventure timeIt's one of the most nightmarish images, but also one of the healthiest.
