A travel agency reported that a Irish The city saw a huge increase in flight searches for 2025 compared to 2024. Kayak has listed its 'top trending' destinations for the coming year as people look to book their next escapades.
Vacation experts' list includes some pretty far-flung locations the United Kingdom which are relatively expensive to achieve. These include Brisbane in Australiawhere people have to pay an average of £1,417 for a flight.
Melbourne is also in the ranking, and flights there cost £1,266. The second most expensive city is Phuket City in Thailand, has £857.
Kayak says long-haul travel is on the rise and some of the popular destinations are more expensive. In fact, Australia is the most expensive location for the company next summer.
But there is a silver lining: prices in Australia have fallen 7% year-on-year, providing “better value” than before.
Kayak Rachel Mumford, UK travel expert, said: “Going on long-haul trips is always exciting.
“Whether you're heading to Australia to enjoy the beautiful, long beaches or heading off the beaten track in Southeast Asia, experiencing something new and different at home is the ultimate adventure.
“2025 is shaping up to be the perfect time to cross long-haul dream destinations off your bucket list without breaking the bank, with airfare prices currently falling to iconic destinations like Australia, Japan and Indonesia.
“Coupled with favorable exchange rates, travelers could enjoy better value for money while exploring these incredible places. »
Dublin, however, also makes the list alongside far-flung destinations. The Irish capital saw a 40% increase in flight searches in 2025 compared to 2024.
Flying there would only cost you £122 on average. It's the cheapest in the ranking, followed closely by Nice at £188.
Trip advisor says Dublin “blends old world ambiance with friendly, down-to-earth charm.”
The site adds that it's a walkable city, so you can do a lot in a day.
Experts suggest starting by exploring the sights, such as St. Patrick's Cathedral and the “heart of the city” at Dublin Castle.
There is also the Trinity College campus.
Trip Advisor also says: “There are tons of museums to explore (many, like the Chester Beatty, are free), and the food truly caters for all budgets and tastes: you can dive into a menu tasting in one of the city's 43 Michelin restaurants. -star restaurants or go to a pub and enjoy the best fish and chips of your life.
