The recent Nintendo Direct has given us plenty of exciting reveals, including the news that Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be releasing next year on Switch.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure debuted on iOS last summer, leaving gaming fans wondering if the adorable title would ever launch on non-mobile platforms. During the big day Nintendo Direct showcase, developer Sunblink has revealed that the whimsical Animal Crossing-like game is indeed on its way to the Nintendo Switch – and that it will be released on the handheld console in 2025.
This wholesome adventure sees some of Sanrio's most beloved faces brought to life, including Cinnamoroll, Hello Kitty, and Kuromi. Alongside this adorable crew, players work to restore an abandoned island, much like in New Horizons. There's crafting, decorating, exploring, shopping, and puzzles to solve in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, making it the perfect game for us Animal Crossing aficionados.
Island Adventure is also frequently updated, with the most recent patch dubbed Cabins and castles, featuring various cabin customization options, valuable island visitors, quests and much more. Fans of timed events will be happy to know that the game offers plenty of them, i.e. unique renewable rewards and themed goodies for seasoned collectors.
While I wait Nintendo to announce (literally any) news regarding New Horizons or its potential future successors, games like Animal Crossing keep me afloat and Hello Kitty Island Adventure seems to check all my boxes. Plus, it involves Cinnamoroll And Little Twin Stars – what more could you ask for as a Sanrio Stan?
