Florida residents planning a trip to the perfect summer destination could score a great deal with the help of AI and Google.
The search engine powerhouse offers AI-driven travel planning with the destination of your choice and the best price to boot.
“We have what we call a price alert on Google Flights,” said Luma Hamade, a technology expert at Google. “I actually got a massive discount for my trip to Europe thanks to the price alert.”
The travel technology is free, creating itineraries for destinations from Orlando to Italy, which happens to be a hot spot for Florida travelers this year.
Hamade told News 6 that travelers who want to get a great price should go to Google Flights “a few weeks before you book” and turn on the price alert filter so you know which day that flight will be cheapest.
“As far as arranging goes, you should receive a confirmation email once you book directly to your Gmail,” Hamade told News 6. “You can actually ask Gemini, which is our chatbot AI, to extract that confirmation email and create a complete itinerary based on where you're going.
Hamade says the magic of AI happens on your phone or laptop “in real time.” In fact, she said she saved $500 on her flight, thanks to the price alert.
The “Google Maps Community” provides real-time experiences so the AI system can focus on the best local spots for your vacation destination.
“When you're looking for what you want to wear on this trip, we have what we call a personalized style advisor,” she said. “Go to your Google search page, scroll down and you can choose your wardrobe. »
You can plan your route by going to Gemini.Google.com to pull all the information from your Gmail account and it will condense an itinerary for you and your family.
To start planning your trip with Google Maps, visit https://www.google.com/mymaps. On your My Cards dashboard, click the “Create new card” button.
Once you've given your map a name, you can start adding your locations.

If you plan to travel a lot, Google One offers a premium travel assistant for $15 to $20 per month.
