An East Tennessee tourist destination was recently named one of the most affordable vacation destinations in the United States.
Magical Nepal, a travel booking organization, has determined the the cheapest and most expensive travel destinations in the countryThey analyzed more than 100 vacation destinations in the United States to determine the rankings.
The main factors considered were meals, accommodation, transportation and attractions. Prices were also adjusted for seasonal inflation to reflect the most common travel times for each destination.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is ranked the fifth cheapest vacation destination in the United States for 2024.

“Nestled at the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg offers a mix of natural beauty and family-friendly attractions for an average daily cost of $211.36 per person,” the listing says.
Estimates put lodging at about $121 per night and meals at $52.97 per day. Based on these figures, a seven-day vacation for a family of four would total about $3,853.44.
“Gatlinburg's mix of outdoor adventures and charming urban attractions makes it a great choice for families and nature lovers looking for a budget-friendly mountain getaway,” the listing adds.

Aspen, Colorado is the most expensive tourist destination in the United States. The average cost per person for a day is $779.92. For a family of four, it would cost $14,081.21 for a seven-day vacation, not including flights.
