A flight attendant is sharing some of her best tips for flying and her latest tip has reached over 850,000 views on TikTok.
Ally Case, who said she works for American Airlines, started a series on TikTok where she shared a series of “14 Days of Travel Tips,” one of which focuses on safety and luggage.
In Case's video, she shares “one of her best travel safety tips” regarding personal information being disclosed on a passenger's luggage tag.

“I don’t even like strangers knowing my name – there’s no way my phone number and home address are going to be posted,” Case captioned his video.
Instead of leaving your personal information out in the open on your luggage tag, Case recommend to travelers Flip the insert inside the label, so that it is available when needed, but not in plain sight.
“Always turn the information on your baggage cards upside down,” she explains in her video.
“I can't tell you how many people I see on a daily basis with their information posted.”

Case said that by turning the card upside down inside the tag, if your luggage is lost, someone who finds it can turn the card over and find the correct coordinates.
Many users in the comments section thought it was a “great idea” and others shared their own personal ideas. Luggage safety tips.
“What a great tip. I will definitely be doing this from now on!!,” one user commented.
“I just slide my business card into the holder. It has enough information to give it back to me,” wrote another TikTok user.

A TikTok creator I shared a personal story about why it's important to hide personal information when traveling.
“My daughter’s 15 year old friend was traveling with us and a guy behind us in the gate line texted her because he saw her number. I lost it! Cover your information,” the user commented on Case’s post.

One social media user said that instead of using their home address, They write their work address on their label.
Another person said they wrote the address of their travel destination, not their home address.
“I created a dedicated email address instead,” another person wrote.
Other users seemed concerned that some airline employees would not think to return the card if it appeared blank.
Case suggested writing “flip it over” on the blank side of the tag, so anyone who finds the luggage will know the information has been filled in, but is on the other side.
She also suggested purchasing a label that has a built-in lid.

The company security.org advises people to keep “travel itineraries, “passports, car rental documents, airline tickets and boarding passes” secured.
“These documents contain confidential information that you would not want a stranger to discover. For your safety, scan a copy of your passport and keep it in a safe place,” the website says.
“Keep your passport locked away in a safe place, along with your mobile devices. Don’t leave it in plain sight. If you take it with you (and choose not to leave it in a hotel, for example), make sure it’s close to your body, just like you would your devices and wallet.”
