“Coco” is coming to Disney California Adventure.
“We’re bringing our skeleton to life with the latest audio-animatronic technology. Work is underway and we’ll start construction in 2026. And if you haven’t guessed, music will play a big part in this attraction,” said Josh D’Amaro, director of Disney Experiences.
D'Amaro said the attraction was inspired by immersive Disney theme park masterpieces like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion, and the concept art (seen above) features a boat-like vehicle traveling through iconic moments from the Lee Unkrich-directed Pixar film.
A “Coco”-themed attraction has long been anticipated for the Mexico pavilion at Epcot, part of the Walt Disney World resort complex outside Orlando, Florida. The attraction would have replaced a boat ride, which was originally intended solely for Mexican tourists before being supplemented by an attraction featuring the Three Caballeros.
