In anticipation of the island's iconic World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) scheduled for October 27 to 29 in Roseau, Discover the Dominica Authority shares travel updates to prepare for the influx of travelers who will come to celebrate the biggest event of the year on the island. With considerable interest in the event and an increase in ticket sales, international and regional airlines have added additional flights to the island, making travel to this year's event destination and winter season more accessible than ever.
- American airlines: For travelers from the United States and Canada, American Airlines is adding additional daily flights from Miami to Dominica for the island's independence season. Daily non-stop flights will begin on October 24 and continue until November 15. During the World Creole Music Festival, American Airlines will offer two daily flights on October 26, 27 and 28. American Airlines' flight from Miami serves flights from 42 cities in North America.
- Silver Airways: For travelers using San Juan as a connecting point, Silver Airways offers a codeshare agreement with American Airlines, JetBlue, Delta and United when booking. Silver Airways will depart daily, except Sundays, from San Juan during WCMF. This program will continue until August 2024, making it easier to visit Dominica.
- Caribbean Airlines: In August, Caribbean Airlines began service between Antigua and Dominica on Sundays and Wednesdays. Travelers arriving from or using Trinidad as a connecting point can take one of Caribbean Airlines' direct flights, which operate on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, as well as connecting via Barbados on Mondays and Wednesdays. Travelers arriving from Barbados or using Barbados as a connecting point can use Caribbean Airlines on Mondays and Wednesdays during the week of October 22-29 to travel to Dominica.
- LIAT: For travelers using Antigua as a connecting point, LIAT serves Dominica on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This itinerary requires two tickets, one from the port of origin to Antigua and one from LIAT to Dominica. LIAT flights from Barbados are available on Sundays and Fridays.
- inter-Caribbean airlines: Daily service with interCaribbean from Barbados to Dominica will be available during WCMF and beyond. For travelers originating from Saint Lucia or using Saint Lucia as a connecting point, interCaribbean offers daily service in a combination of non-stop and one-stop flights from Saint Lucia to Dominica.
- Winair: During WCMF, Winair will offer direct flights from Saint Martin to Dominica on Monday, Wednesday and two flights on Saturday.
- A ferry service: From October 25., The Island Express will offer six ferries from Guadeloupe and five from Saint Lucia and Martinique for travelers heading to Dominica. As demand increases, additional ferry services are added, so check the L'Express des Îles website for new updates.
