Large businesses are back online as disruption continues for small businessespublished at 19:10 on July 19

There is an interesting and strange lesson amidst this chaos.
The largest companies with the most affected computers appear to be the ones coming back online the fastest.
That's what you might expect, of course, but it may indicate that these larger, wealthier companies have better IT staffing resources and better resilience measures in place.
The solution to this problem is largely manual and requires an IT team to be present on the affected computers.
It is the small and medium-sized businesses that are in the most difficulty, in my opinion. They have fewer computers to repair, but also fewer staff to carry out the repairs.
For the big companies that make headlines, that information is largely brief and concise.
But, of course, we also don't know what will happen next with work delays, appointments, missed deadlines and general damage to organizations.
The most glaring example is that of airlines which appear to be operational again and operating almost normally, but with huge delays to catch up on.
