Visa
Since October 2024, Indian nationals holding a valid visa for the United States, United Kingdom or European Union can obtain a visa on arrival at any entry point in the United Arab Emirates. The visa is valid for 14 days and can be extended for another 14 days. Alternatively, you can apply for a tourist visa online (30-day single entry, fee: US$150).
Flight (around mid-November for Economy class):
The direct Mumbai-Abu Dhabi-Mumbai return flight on Etihad starts at ₹18,000 (duration: 3h25). Etihad direct return flight from Chennai starts at ₹18,500 (duration: 4h35). Several airlines offer direct flights to Abu Dhabi from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and other cities.

Move
Taxis are reasonably priced and the most popular way to get around the city, but you can also travel by bus, ferry or rent a car. Save a lot of money by using public transport: a single journey on a public bus costs just Dhs2, with the cost capped at Dhs5 per journey for passengers who need to change buses before reaching their destination. The normal taxi fare starts at Dhs12, then goes to Dhs1.82 per kilometer. A one-way ticket to downtown Abu Dhabi generally costs between Dhs70 and Dhs80.

• Avoid PDA in public places
• Respect prayer times and do not eat in public when residents are fasting during Ramadan.
• Use your right hand when accepting a gift or when eating.
• Do not drink alcohol in public. Alcohol is sold and consumed only in licensed bars and licensed restaurants.
• Do not dance in public.
• Ask permission before taking photos of strangers.
• There is zero tolerance for drugs and any form of narcotics.
• Do not jaywalk: you can receive a penalty of Dh400 for jaywalking; From next March, you risk a fine of between 5,000 and 10,000 Dhs and a prison sentence.
