The country of wine is a to-do list destination for wine lovers and foodies with endless tastings, culinary delights and magnificent landscapes that can put every mind at ease.
It's not cheap, however, and those on a budget might struggle to find the money they need to plan their dream Napa vacation.
To help, “Good Morning America” explored many ways to save on that dream vacation.
Get there
Located north of San Francisco, many flights from all over the country will bring you to Northern California and – with perhaps a short layover – many can do so on a budget.
Peak seasons for traveling to Wine Country are March through May and August through October, so going out outside of these times can save you a little money.
For example, you can consult Delta for various packages including flights and hotel stays.
Where to stay
There are a few different regions to explore in Wine Country, including two main areas, Napa and Sonoma – according to experts who spoke with “GMA,” Sonoma is a bit less expensive.
Accommodation is usually the most expensive part of your trip, which is why “GMA” has found the solution Flamingo Resort & Spaa “mid-century modern marvel” located in the heart of Sonoma wine country that has numerous offerings throughout the summer so you can enjoy its spa, wellness activities, delicious Lazeaway Club restaurant and much more.
Food & Fun for the whole family
Sonoma Wine Country is a wine and food lover's paradise, and the region's approximately 475 wineries offer plenty of opportunities to indulge in every moment.
You can expect to spend around $100 per person for reservations at most locations, or you can click Big John's Market and create your own basket of cheese, fruit and other snacks before heading to a winery that allows you to picnic.
You can also book on Quivira starting at $35 per person or $50 per table, but the cost gets you a credit for wine and other items.
For a more kid-friendly experience, try Safari West: The Sonoma Serengeti where more than 400 rolling acres allow you to observe and enjoy nearly 1,000 animals representing more than 90 distinct species such as African antelopes, primates, birds and much more.
And “GMA” viewers can save 20% when booking children’s safaris when they mention or use the code GMAKIDS20 when booking.
High food & wine experience
If you are willing to spend a little more for a full tasting, some credit cards offer buy-for-one rates.
If you have a card that says Visa Signature or Visa infinite in your wallet, use it during your wine tasting to get BOGO benefits.
On the race tracks
Take it up a gear and visit one of the area's top attractions, Sonoma Raceway.
You can even rent an exotic car drive on a real circuit for three to four laps after a 25-minute safety course, all while a professional instructor rides alongside you.
