A journey The influencer dubbed Malta the ultimate “10 out of 10” destination, proclaiming it to be extremely underrated.
While many dream of wandering the ancient ruins of Greece or lounging on the sunny shores of Ibiza, Hannah, a Tic Tac travel guru, assures that this often overlooked gem offers everything you could ask for, especially if you're traveling on a budget.
Take from Tic Tac on @hannahsholsshe explained: “Malta is by far the most underrated country I think I've ever visited. That's why you need to put it on your 2024 travel list.
“A quick breakdown of the costs: we paid just over £400 each, five nights at the Solana Hotel and Spa. This included flights, accommodation, breakfast, luggage and transfers. . So here are a few things I wouldn't miss if you go to Malta this year.”
Despite its small size, Malta's charm is gigantic, with antiquities such as its stunning megalithic temples even surpassing the might of Stonehenge and Egypt's iconic pyramids. The island also features an array of stunning sea caves and the famous Blue Lagoon.
Hannah, a seasoned traveler, cannot recommend highly enough the wonders of Malta's walled capital, Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, hailed for being “one of the most concentrated historical areas in the world.”
She explained: “Please just spend a day in Valletta wandering around, eating on the streets, going to the shops, strolling in and out of the gardens, seeing the cannons firing at the saluting battery and checking out the port.
“Once you get bored of city life, book a boat tour! So we booked the Gozo, Comino and Blue Lagoon tour through Get Your Guide.”
The less populated but equally charming island of Gozo is another must-see according to Hannah who only shelled out £29 for this unforgettable sailing experience, calling it her “favourite day out”.
She continued: “One thing I loved about Malta was that it was like nowhere else I had been before. There are such strong Arabic and Roman influences, it was just absolutely beautiful .
“And everyone we met seemed so proud to be Maltese. So overall Malta gets a 10 out of 10 from me and I can't recommend it enough.”
