National Geographic has released its annual list of “World’s Best” Travels for 2025.
Of the 25 global destinations, three American sites were selected: Ocala National Forest in Florida, Boise, Idaho and Los Angeles, California.
The Ocala National Forest has received recognition for being one of Florida's “last wild places,” NatGeo wrote in its list.

While most Florida Tourists For visiting theme parks and beaches, NatGeo has called the Ocala National Forest, the southernmost forest in the United States, a “green oasis.”
Ocala's 387,000 acres are home to diverse wildlife like black bears, manatees and rare plants, as well as 600 natural lakes and springs, according to NatGeo.
The National Forest Foundation has expanded recreational opportunities in the area with new fishing piers and improved trails, NatGeo said, while also “working to restore the preserve's longleaf pine ecosystem by removing species invasive and planting seedlings.
Los Angeles made the list for its new artistic offerings, with NatGeo describing the city's cultural scene as receiving “new energy”.
Specifically, Los Angeles' largest public/private black art program in the United States, called Destination Crenshaw, has invested over 1.3 miles of Crenshaw Boulevard with “landscaped community spaces” and over 100 commissioned works .
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is also completing its David Geffen Galleries for its permanent collection, which is set to open. for travelers in April 2026.
Also opening in 2026 at the Los Angeles Fairgrounds is the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which will display works collected by Star Wars creator George Lucas.

Boise, Idaho, was named to the NatGeo list for its Basque population – the highest in the United States
The Basques are descended from Spanish and French migrants of the late 19th century and came to the region to herd sheep.
Now, Boise is honoring its heritage with one of the largest celebrations of Basque culture in the world, called Jaialdi, which will take place in July 2025 after a 10-year hiatus.
“The city's famous Basque Block in the city's downtown will host daily street parties, dance and music performances, while Sports Night will feature wood-cutting and cart-lifting competitions,” NatGeo said.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Nathan Lump, editor-in-chief of NatGeo, explained that the publication aims to feature destinations that are not typically on travelers' radars.

“We have incredible international adventures, but the three U.S. destinations on our list prove that you don't have to travel far to have memorable experiences,” he said.
