The route has one of the hardest start movements in the world. Despite this, Duffy dominated the notoriously difficult rock in a single session after just eight attempts. Tourism industry opposes ban on trekking in Kangra Hills: The Kangra district administration in the Indian Himalayas has banned trekking on various trails. They say it's to protect hikers from sudden snowfall and harsh conditions.
But tThose in the tourism sector are not happy. They say there has been no snow or rain for months and the ban will deter thousands of tourists from visiting the area.

Hiker dies after being attacked by biting insects: A 63-year-old hiker has died after being attacked by biting insects while hiking in Hong Kong. The man was hiking with a group on the Wilson Trail in the Pat Sin Leng Mountain Range when they came across a swarm of flying insects.
Running for shelter, a woman called for help, describing the insects as “bee-like” to emergency services. When the rescue teams arrived, one member of the group was missing. They found him four hours later. The insects had bitten him several times times, and he fell into a coma. He later died in hospital.
Man breaks British record by crossing Australia: Jack Pitcher established a new British record for running across Australia. The 28-year-old ran 4,320km from Perth to Sydney. He finished in 61 days, cutting which is 16 days compared to the previous record set by Nikki Love.

Another Warning About Over-Reliance on Hiking Apps: Vancouver's search and rescue agency is imploring people to prepare well for their hikes. For three days, they were called to two almost identical rescues.
In both cases, the hikers had found routes online and decided to try them. Neither were prepared for the difficulty of the trail or winter conditions. Rescuers found both hikers wearing running shoes and cotton clothing suffering from hypothermia.
