MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – While it's always a great feeling to see your team compete in the big ball, it can cause problems for travelers who aren't familiar with the area they're traveling to.
“If you're thinking of going, I think the trick will be to book something as soon as possible. Use a travel agent if you can,” said AAA spokesman Clay Ingram.
Whether you're going to see the Tide, Tigers or Blazers in Spokane, Washington or Samford in Salt Lake City, a round-trip flight will cost you almost $1,000. Ingram says the best way to save money is to limit your other expenses.
“It kind of depends on how long you want to stay,” Ingram said. “It depends on what kind of tickets you want to get for yourself.”
If you decide to rent a car for your trip, many Alabamians may be unfamiliar with the laws and driving habits of the area they are heading to.
“Cellphone and texting bans differ from state to state, so you need to be very aware of that,” Ingram said. “Speed limits also vary from state to state. You must be aware. »
Ingram also stressed the importance of protecting yourself from scams when planning your trip. He recommends being extremely careful if you are unfamiliar with the company or supplier you are purchasing from.
