Independent studio ManaBrigade and publisher Fast Travel Games announced today that BlackForge: a blacksmithing adventure, a fantasy VR forging game, is coming to Quest and PC VR headsets next month.
The game, described as a “fantastic and comfortable creation experience,” is set to launch on Quest 2/3/Pro And SteamVR headsets on June 13, priced at $20.
Here's how ManaBrigade describes the game:
BlackForge: A Smithing Adventure is a wholesome and deceptively skillful VR blacksmithing game in which players get the chance to run their own forge. Through realistic VR interactions, they'll sculpt and shape metal, weld materials, cut wood, and more as they strive to create stunning tools and epic weapons. Before sending them off, players can even test their creations on a battle mannequin. The game includes a full campaign in which players will learn new skills by fulfilling requests from townsfolk and adventurers, delivered by a trusted merchant.
At launch, BlackForge: a blacksmithing adventure will feature a comprehensive blacksmithing campaign and story, the ability to heat and shape metals as well as carve and shape wood to craft versatile tools, your own blacksmithing spirit pet, and a handy battle dummy for you to you can test your weapons and see if they are up to the task.
You can now pre-order the game on Quest, which includes a 20% discount. You will also have the option to purchase it on Steam for a 20% discount, which will be active for two weeks after launch.
