Big changes are coming to Disney World in 2025, and these are ones you definitely won't want to miss!
New version of Test Track will debut in 2025as well as the new Pirates Lounge comes to Magic Kingdom and the Spaceship Earth Lounge coming to EPCOTand construction will begin on some of the massive new lots like Land cars And Land of the wicked in MK and The tropical Americas in the animal kingdom (which replaces DinoLand USA). PHEW. That being said, You can choose to make 2025 the year of your next trip to Disney World — but how much should you really budget for the vacation? Let's find out!
Before we begin, we need to put a DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind that this is all based on the prices we found as of the date of our research for writing this article, but prices are absolutely subject to change and price increases occur…OFTEN!
Just a warning too — for this post, we will NOT include the shipping cost to/from Disney World and our family's house. This can vary greatly depending on where you are, whether you are driving or flying, and a multitude of other factors, so we're only sticking to Disney World prices here!
When reading the prices below, keep in mind that gas prices, rental car prices, airline tickets, baggage fees, and (if you're traveling) the cost of transportation airport at Disney World. will all have to be added to the budget described below.
Meet the family
For the purposes of this budget, we will price things for a family of 4… 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 7 years old).
To make it somewhat comparable to our Budget 2024we will look for a one week vacation (7 days, 6 nights) In mid-July 2024 and our family will have park tickets for 5 days.
Hotel
For our hotel, we'll go with a Moderate Resort to keep things somewhat average in terms of cost. Keep in mind that costs can vary A LOT depending on the dates you choose and the hotel you want to stay at. For this example, we will choose Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverfront in a Bois Vue room for 7 days and 6 nights. We chose a trip from Saturday July 12th to Friday July 18th.
A standard room for these dates was priced at $329.67 per night. This brought the hotel total (without tickets or other additions) to $1,978.00. With tax, it amounts to $2,225.28.
Park tickets
Our family only need tickets for 5 daysnot all 7. We will add the Park Hopper option so our family can move between parks each day. Let's assume the 12th and 18th are travel days, so park tickets will be used between the 14th and 18th. Tickets will cost $763.26 per adult and $743.66 per child.
The total 5-day tickets with the Park Hopper option for our family ended up being $3,209.74.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass
Genie+ is no more! Instead, you have the option to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Lightning Lane Single Pass to avoid lines at Disney World. The cost still fluctuates depending on which park you start at each day, but you can now book up to 3 Multi Pass rides (and 1 Single Pass ride) per day in advance of your trip – 7 days in advance if you're staying on property, and 3 days in advance for any other person.
Although prices may change, let's look at what they could cost in 2025. In 2024, the prices for each park (Multi Pass) and each Single Pass ride on July 30 are below:
- Magic Kingdom Multi Pass: $27
- Disney's Hollywood Studios Multiple Pass: $24
- EPCOT Multiple Pass: $19
- Disney's Animal Kingdom: $17
- Single pass for the Seven Dwarfs mining train: $11
- TRON Lightcycle/Run Lane Single Pass: $20
- Cosmic Rewind Single Pass: $15
- Rise of Resistance Single Pass: $22
- Flight of Passage Single Pass: $14
Using these prices, we will expect our family to purchase the Magic Kingdom Multi Pass for Day 1 WITH a Single Pass, EPCOT Multi Pass for Day 2 WITH a Single Pass, Hollywood Studios Multi Pass for Day 3, Animal Kingdom Multi Pass for day 4, and return to the Magic Kingdom Multi Pass for day 5. This total is $560 for the 5 days for the 4 family members.
Disney Food and Dining Plan
THE Disney Dining Plan is BACK! It is essentially a way of pre-pay for your meals — you pay a certain amount up front to get Dining Plan credits, which you can then redeem for a quick service meal, table service meal or snack.
How much the dining plan is worth to you and your family will depend, and it's not the same answer for every family. It all depends on the cost of the meal plan compared to the cost you would usually spend on food in the parks.
If you like often bring your own food/snacks, like to share meals, prefer to eat small meals and/or generally don't order the most expensive items on the menu, then the dining plan may not be the best fit for you .. But if you're still hesitant, here are some calculations to help you make a decision!
For our family, we are going to say that they will benefit from the Disney dining planand we will opt for the standard meal plan. The standard plan includes 1 Quick Service meal, 1 Table Service meal and 1 snack/non-alcoholic drink per day and per person. It also comes with 1 refillable station mug for each person in your group.
Standard Dining Plan Costs $97.70 per adult per day and $30.78 per child (3 to 9 years old) per daywhich means the total of the standard meal plan for our family would be approximately $256.96 for their trip. Keep in mind that does not include gratuities for table service meals. Let's set aside another $120 for this. And we will include $50 for all miscellaneous snacks or other food items our family might want to add. This brings the total to $1,284.80.
Memories
There are so many souvenirs at Disney World that everyone is sure to find something they love. Whether a Loungefly, a MagicBand+ (which will interact with certain statues and objects in the parks), a stuffed animal, a spirit jersey, or one of the thousands of other items available, we need to budget for a few souvenirs.
For this trip we will book $500 for merchandise, or approximately $125 per person.
Additional costs
Other costs you will want to consider factoring into your trip include carpooling services. While you can certainly use Disney World's free bus, boat, monorail, and Skyliner transportation to get around, if you need a more direct way to get to certain locations outside of the Disney bubble (and within 'interior also), or if you do not want it. use Disney transportation, a rideshare service is an option.
You will also want to ask yourself if something like Memory maker is good for you and your family. While taking PhotoPass photos is free (Cast Members will take these photos for you at various locations throughout the parks), uploading them is not, which for some, kind of defeats the purpose. . Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchases now come with all photos taken, but other PhotoPass photos around the parks will not be included. If you want to buy it for your trip, it will cost $185 if you buy it before your trip.
Total
Let’s break it all down and add it up again!
- Hotel: $2,225.28
- Tickets: $3,209.74
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass: $596
- Food/The Disney Dining Plan: $1,284.80
- Memories : $500
- (Reminder, transportation to and from your home and Disney World AND Disney World to and from the airport has not been calculated here!)
This brings the total for our family to $7,815.82.
Keep in mind that this can change dramatically depending on several factors: the time of year you choose to visit, the number of people in your group, the hotel you choose, how you get to Disney World, your meal preferences and much more! This is just a guide to get you started.
