Ghost season is in full swing, and Adventure Aquarium is celebrating with a not-so-scary festival that spans over a month.
Camden Aquarium hosts family event Sparkling and fantastic pumpkin festival, which runs through Sunday, Nov. 3. Festivities include underwater and land pumpkin displays, as well as sensory activities, crafts, storytime and a performance.
One of the centerpieces of the festival is the multitude of aquatic creatures made from pumpkins, including sharks, fish, turtles and frogs. New this year, there will also be a 10-foot-long underwater octopus fashioned from pumpkins and a free-diving scarecrow that will watch over the aquarium's underwater pumpkin patch.
In addition to the fall exhibits, seasonal sensory tables featuring UV-reactive light elements will be set up. There will also be Fintastic Pumpkin Glow storytimes, where staff will read books aloud to guests, and the “What Goes Bump in the Midnight Zone” show, which will illuminate creatures living in the darkest depths of the ocean.
For an additional $5, visitors can paint and take home their own pumpkin. The aquarium's gift shop will sell pumpkin-themed souvenirs.
