The Fun Station will include climbing walls, a zip line and bumper boats
CEDAR RAPIDS — A new indoor adventure park — the largest in Iowa — is coming to Cedar Rapids, featuring a zip line, climbing walls, bowling and bumper boats, among other attractions.
Cedar Rapids-based Edwards Entertainment Co., which owns Fun Station locations in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Eldridge, announced Wednesday that it plans to open a second location in Cedar Rapids next year.
The new building, located at 8920 Brighton Way SW, will be more than 70,000 square feet. The site is north of Wright Brothers Boulevard and west of Kirkwood Boulevard SW.
“This expansion represents a significant milestone in our growth, making it the largest indoor adventure park in the state of Iowa and the entire region, with more than 22 incredible attractions,” a press release said.
According to the press release, attractions that will be included in the facility include “slick slides” that are “like a water slide without the water”; the Midwest’s longest indoor zip line; a game room with more than 40 games; nine climbing walls; a ropes course stretching 55 feet in the air; bumper cars; duckpin bowling; light-up mini-golf; a play maze; a seasonal bumper boat course; 10,000 square feet of trampolines; a two-level laser tag area; two dining options; a bar; and an outdoor patio overlooking a pond.
Ahmann Companies will be the developer.
The other Cedar Rapids Fun Station, at 200 Collins Rd. NE, opened in 1993.
