HOUGHTON, MI – A new experience allows families to experience the majestic beauty of Michigan’s Isle Royale from the comfort of their home.
National Park Service Celebrates National Wilderness Month by Launching Isle Royale Wilderness Adventure, a new online experience that offers kids and families a chance to virtually explore the remote Lake Superior island.
Isle Royale is closed each year from November to mid-April, but the online experience is accessible 365 days a year.
The wilderness adventure simulates a backpacking and paddling experience with the goal of traversing the island in five days.
It challenges users to make decisions that backpackers or paddlers might experience in person on Isle Royale. Each choice affects how your online adventure unfolds.
