Construction is still underway in the new Up! Ultimate Adventure Park We're coming into Loudoun County, but The Burn got a glimpse today and we saw some breathtaking sights.
As we have been reporting for several years nowUp! arrives on the Lexington 7 center on the north side of Route 7 in Ashburn.
To help you geolocate this place, it is right next to the Riverside Commons center, which is home to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant. If you are there, you probably won't know that these are two different properties.
Up! — which spans about 17,000 square feet on two levels — will feature 36 themed climbing walls, an aerial ropes course with a zip line and a suspended cargo net for kids to crawl through.
Themed walls include a King Kong wall with the great ape atop the Empire State Building and the building's windows will be illuminated.
There are also two “slippery slides” that are unlike anything we've seen before. Two steep slides that kids can go down before being propelled into an airbag.
There will also be several party rooms, a kitchen that will serve pizza, soft pretzels and other snacks, and – finally – there will be a huge games room filled with all sorts of games – including the ever-popular redemption games where kids collect tickets and exchange them for prizes.
Work is still ongoing, but if all goes well from now on, they hope to be ready to open in November.
The search for staff begins as we speak and they are hosting a hiring event at Up! on October 5th from 11am to 4pm.
