Walt Disney World's newest attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, continues to face extended downtime, with the attraction experiencing its longest opening delay to date.
On Monday, August 26, the Magic Kingdom attraction did not call its first boarding group into the virtual queue until 3:20 p.m., marking the longest delay since the attraction launched in late June 2024.
As of 10:30 a.m. today, the attraction had not yet opened to guests and no boarding groups had been called, suggesting ongoing operational challenges. Since its preview phase and throughout the first two months of regular operation, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has experienced frequent closures and delayed openings.
While Disney typically doesn't disclose specific reasons for technical difficulties with an attraction, it's widely believed that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is experiencing issues with new sensors designed to monitor the position of logs as they travel through the ride. These sensors are part of advanced safety measures and control systems that trigger audio-animatronic scenes.
Ongoing technical issues are likely a factor in Disney's decision to continue using a virtual queue system for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, even after more than two months of operation. Disney initially indicated that a standby queue would not be available during the attraction's operating days, but planned to implement one shortly thereafter. However, given the ongoing issues, it appears that the standby queue will not be implemented until these challenges are fully resolved.
As Disney works to resolve these operational challenges, Cast Members across the region encourage guests to monitor the My Disney Experience app for real-time updates on attraction availability and virtual queue status.
